Im pretty sure that the record companies are not too happy about this whole internet invention of itunes and also downloading music illigally. The record companies are losing money and people just don't want to go out and buy a album anymore they would rather buy it on itunes which it is cheaper and can go directly to their ipod or just buy a couple songs off the album. Although this may take money away from the record companies and the artists I think that it is more benificial to the consumers because now we have the access of all of these songs and movies and such from our computers. It really is a hassle to go out and buy a single or a album in a store. Also people like to listen to parts before they buy it and you can do that on itunes easier than you can in a store.

itunes
itunes in unreal, i think it one of the best inventions ever. Itunes allows you to access their music library and buy any song, video or game for a low as .99. They have to be making a killing with money through this because people have been really scared of downloading music illigally after the whole napster thing happened. Now people feel safe and think it is a great idea to buy music off itunes because they think it is cheap and also people dont want to go out and buy a whole new album just for two of the songs.

I totally agree. My brother and boyfriend are downloading whores and I fear they will end up in Guantanamo or something. Did you hear they sued these 7 and 9 year old girls for downloading a bunch of songs three years ago. Very creepy. Also, many of the albums on itunes aren't that much cheaper and it's sorta weird to not have that little pamphlet CD's come with so they've updated the program to include digital images..STUPID!!
I also agree that itunes is a great invention, but I still think that 99 cents per song isn't as cheap as some might say it is. I am often tempted to download illegally, but I know how much money this causes record companies to lose so I still download off itunes.
Even though I think artist may be unhappy that people can now buy a song at a time and not have to purchase the entire album, I feel like it was still better than the time when no one was buying anything, and even though it's cheaper for us, it is still better that was the case. Plus, it may help certain artists make money if people buy a song from an artist they wouldn't normally by a cd for, but still want just one song.
I used to download music illegally but than realized how much trouble one could get in. I quickly deleted my Limewire and started purchasing songs off iTunes. Although 99 cents is not as cheap as some may argue, it's still a lot better than paying the fines of downloading music illegally.
I just got a new lap top a few months ago and told myself I wasn't going to put limewire of any of those other illegal music programs. 99 cents per song isn't cheap, when you have hundreads of songs on your ipod. It adds up. I also realized how many people are getting in a lot of trouble for downloading illegally. People think that just because artists make tons of money that they don't need to pay for songs if they can just download them illegally, yet I disagree. Why shouldn't be pay the artist?
i agree that itunes is one of the greatest inventions however i dont like how you are charged 99 per song i think it should be one flat rate a year or something for unlimited downloads haha..good job
