Debate

While watching the presidential debate on friday then after thinking about who I thought won the debate, I honestly could not come up with an answer.  Though out the whole debate I felt like Obama and McCain each talked more about what each one was going to propose and bashed each other more than answering the actual questions being asked.  Through out the debate the moderator kept mentioning to each candidate to look at the other person and each time it looked like they were just reading off the TelePrompTer.  It was pretty hard for me to actually determine a winner because i felt like the debate was so scripted and that the questions were not being answered.  To me the debate was like the usual debates where all that happens is bashing each other and also proving which one of their points are better and why.  I just wished the canidate's answered the questions and did not just read off their TelePrompTer.

I agree that the debates ended up feeling kind of fake. Both of the candidates felt very distracted to me, and I really didn't see much presidential traits in them during these important meetings.

I know! The thing that pissed me off the most is that they weren’t duking it out with one another, they were trying so hard to persuade the audience. That’s not how we want to be persuaded! I agree with you, it was very frustrating.

Debates are fake. They never end up being what they should be..an argument of ideas. I think that's what the American peole really want a good loud argument between 2 candidates. I know I woul dlike to see it Without a good battle it's hard to see who is more willing and able to not back down from potential foreign problems.

After I watched the debates that night, I felt the same way. I thought that the candidates didn't really answer the questions being asked but rather discussed things that they felt they needed to say and wanted the public to hear.

I wished candidates did not read prepared responses as much as well. It seems like you don't really get to know them when they do this and you really don't feel like you can trust them wholeheartedly.

I felt the exact same way. Each candidate continued to repeat the same negative comments about the other, and danced around all the questions they were asked. It was hard to have a good feel for what these guys were actually going to accomplish.

In all honesty I feel like both these candidates were total flakes. Of course I think that about many politicians. They try as hard as they can to never answer a question straightforward especially when dealing with actions they will take in office so they have more leway after the get inot office. What are Obama's plans when he gets into office??? no one could possibly know he never mentioned anything real specific. The only thing I could figure out for sure is that taxes will go up.
